Moved from Minneapolis to Scottsdale — 6 month update

Jamie
Wanted to give an honest update since I posted here before the move. I have MS and the cold winters in Minneapolis were making my fatigue and spasticity unbearable. Moved to Scottsdale in September. The good: My fatigue is noticeably better October through April. Less stiffness in the mornings. I can actually be outside in winter which is huge for my mental health. The bad: Summer is no joke. June through August I was basically housebound from the heat. Finding a new neurologist who actually understood progressive MS took 4 months. Overall: I'd do it again. But I'd be more realistic about what moving can and can't fix.

The summer housebound thing is real. I'm in Phoenix with CRPS and July/August might as well not exist. But October through May? I'm a different person. It's a trade-off.

This is one of the most honest relocation posts I've ever read. Thank you for including the hard parts too. "I'd be more realistic about what moving can and can't fix" — that line needs to be printed on a billboard. I'm pinning this one.

Currently considering a move from Seattle and this is exactly the kind of real talk I needed. Thank you Jamie.
