EDS and the heat — does anyone else get MORE unstable in summer?

Casey
I know most people here talk about cold and rain being their enemy but for me it's heat. When it gets above 85 my joints get even looser, I sublux more, and my skin gets this weird elasticity. My PT said heat can increase tissue laxity in connective tissue disorders. Is this just me?

This is really interesting Casey. Everyone's body responds differently and that's exactly why a one-size-fits-all weather forecast doesn't work for us. For fibro I'm worse in cold and damp. For you it's heat. Both are valid and real.

NOT just you. I have EDS too and the heat absolutely makes my joints less stable. My shoulders sublux way more in summer. Your PT is right — heat relaxes connective tissue and when your connective tissue is already too loose, that's not a good thing.
