humidity is the devil and nobody can convince me otherwise

livin_foggy
i literally cannot function in humidity. like i know everyone says they dont like humidity but for me its a whole medical event. my fibro goes through the roof, my fatigue gets 10x worse, and i get this weird swelling in my hands and feet that makes it hard to even grip things. moved from houston to colorado last year partly for the dry air and honestly? best decision I ever made for my health. not perfect obviously but the difference is night and day. if you have the option to move somewhere drier and your condition is affected by humidity... seriously consider it. i know thats not realistic for everyone but for me it was life changing

i moved from florida to arizona 5 years ago for my fibro and the dry heat is SO much easier on my body. not pain free obviously but the humidity in florida was like walking through soup and my body hated every second of it. not everyone can move and i get that. but if its an option and humidity makes you worse... yeah. the difference is real

Houston boy here with MS and yeah humidity is ROUGH. I haven't been able to move yet (job, family, etc) but I've basically accepted that June-September is just... bad. I plan my year around it honestly. Schedule big things for fall/winter when I'm more functional. not ideal but its what it is

I cant move for financial reasons but I got a really good dehumidifier for my house and it helps more than I expected. My bedroom stays at about 40% humidity now and I sleep SO much better. It's not the same as living in a dry climate but it helps at home at least

Texas here. The humidity combined with the heat is a double whammy for my COPD. Summers are basically house arrest. I've been looking at New Mexico honestly but uprooting everything at 62 is... daunting. Glad the move worked for you though. That gives me some hope.
