Spring pressure changes are absolutely wrecking me

robert_t
March has been brutal. We've had like 4 pressure fronts come through in the past two weeks and I feel every. single. one. My RA has been at like a constant 6-7 out of 10 when usually I hover around a 3-4. Is anyone else getting hit extra hard this spring? I feel like every time I start to recover from one front, another one rolls in. I'm in the midwest so the weather is basically just chaos from now until June. I've started keeping a little notebook where I write down the pressure and my pain level each day. Definately seeing a pattern but its depressing to look at lol

midwest here too and YES. march has been awful. we had that one day where the pressure dropped like 0.7 in a few hours and i thought i was going to die. my knees were at like a 9 out of 10 which almost never happens. i also keep a notebook. the pattern is very clear. i dont know why doctors still act like this isnt a thing

Same here. My RA has been angry all month. I've been keeping track of my pain levels for a while now and spring is always the worst season. Not summer, not winter — spring, because of the constant changes. At least in summer/winter the pressure is somewhat stable. Spring is just chaos. I've started pre-emptively taking it easy when I see a front coming in the forecast. Doesn't prevent the flare but it makes the recovery shorter.

definately not just you. im in ohio and this march has been brutal. yesterday was 65 and sunny, today its 38 and raining, and my body is just like NOPE. i swear the pain starts about 6-8 hours before the pressure actually drops. anyone else notice that? like my body is forecasting the weather before the weather happens

I live in the Pacific Northwest and spring here is basically just "pressure roulette" from February through May. Some years are worse than others but this year has been particularly bad. I don't have much advice honestly, just solidarity. I've tried everything from supplements to specific exercises and nothing really prevents the weather-related flares. I just try to manage them when they hit.

oh honey. I'm 67 and I've been saying this for decades. Doctors always looked at me like I was crazy. Now there's actual research showing barometric pressure affects inflammation. Would have been nice to be believed 30 years ago but better late than never I suppose. Hang in there. Spring does end eventually.
